Choked Up

I received the following comment from my daughter who is in Grad school and she is referencing the acceptance speech Obama Barak made on Tuesday evening:”I got a bit choked up watching Obama because there was a moment during his speech when he got overcome with emotion and had to pause. The enormity of the audience also was incredibly moving to see. There are far-reaching implications for this moment that we have not even begun to comprehend. What we are seeing is a generational shift many thought was impossible. It is a new day”.

Included in her email was a link to a CNN commentary made by TD Jakes, the well known preacher/leader.

I know the moment that my daughter and TD Jakes are referring to and it touched me too. At this point in time I have not yet made my choice for President. My decision will be made by examining my conscience and staying prayerful before God. I will vote for who I think will best serve our nation at this time; but, it is certainly good to be touched emotionally by a candidate for the highest office in this land who exudes sincerity, and a heart felt desire to help change our country for the better.

Till next time,  Jim

I agree that this is a new day and I desire to also see it as a new beginning. To light the flame of desire in our hearts to literally see our nation’s resources (people) working together for the good of all. Let’s do it! Together!
