Christianity or Christ

Steve Pavlina wrote a post recently and admitted up front that since Christianity is the largest religion he would slant the article towards its ubiquitous failings. You can reference the article at this link:

There are numerous books written by people who would identify themselves as Christians who are also against religion. I have stated previously on this blog that I am in this category. It might surprise Steve and others who take a strong reactionary stance against Christianity that Jesus, the Christ, was also against the obvious shortcomings of religion and some of his harshest words were directed against religious people.

Having said all that, let me suggest that you check out the article by Steve because he raises some good points. Obviously I do not agree with everything he has written in this article but that is ok. Let me suggest to all who have a problem with Christianity or just the idea of organized religion to check out Jesus. Read the gospel of John in the Bible and then read the other three. You may want to use a paraphrase like The Message. I think you will see that to be a follower of Jesus Christ does not mean to embrace a religion.

Till next time, Jim
