Start Your Day With Quiet Time

Take some quiet time to start your day. During this time of Economic crisis and change it is a good time to reestablish an old practice. I think of King David the psalmist:(Psalm 63:1 KJV) A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Avoid all of the hype and spin from news sources – they live for times like these. My hometown paper decided to run two consecutive headlines on the front page that were huge; one of them read, “Dow down” and the other said, “Misery”. Both of these headlines had accompanying graphics that shouted terror and alarm. I have decided to avoid this paper with their cheap shot at sensationalism.

Focus your mind and thinking during this time. I run a 10 minute devotional site with a brief meditation, usually some soothing pictures and music. You can find it here.
